Leh Approved as Initial Venue for Ladakh High Court Bench

Leh Approved as Initial Venue for Ladakh High Court Bench

The High Court needs a place to hold hearings in Ladakh.

The Chief Justice recommended Leh as the first place for the court bench to sit.

Ladakh’s Lieutenant Governor approved that recommendation.

There are 423 pending cases from Ladakh, and 252 began in the Leh area.

This means many people who need the court are connected to Leh.

Leh is also where Ladakh’s main government offices are located.

Temporary buildings are available so the court can begin sooner.

Officials will arrange housing, staff support and security for visiting judges and employees.
