U.S. Market Opens Mixed as Tech Earnings and Trade Talks
On Thursday, the stock market had mixed results.
Some parts of the market, like the S&P 500 and Nasdaq, started strong.
However, the Dow Jones Industrial Average went down because of drops in big company stocks like IBM.
In the first hours of trading, the Dow lost a lot of points, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq gained fewer points.
Investors were watching how tech companies were doing and also keeping an eye on discussions about trade.
The S&P 500 and Nasdaq opened higher on Thursday.
The Dow slipped due to declines in IBM, Honeywell, and UnitedHealth.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell by 233.9 points.
The S&P 500 increased by 9.7 points.
The Nasdaq Composite rose by 63.8 points.
