Mumbai Police Investigates ₹34.75 Crore Diamond Fraud
The Mumbai Police are investigating a big diamond fraud case.
A man named Nimesh Piyush Mehta, who is a director of a company called Cupid Diamonds, says three people—Satish Daryanani, Ricky Vasandani, and a Bollywood actor named Vivek Oberoi—cheated him out of ₹34.75 crore.
The fraud happened over four years, from 2021 to 2025.
The accused first gained his trust by making small purchases and then tricked him into giving them expensive diamonds.
They promised to give him a share in a big business deal in Dubai but never followed through.
They also gave him fake cheques that bounced and sent back low-quality stones instead of the original ones.
The police are now looking into all these details to find out the full extent of the fraud.
Vivek Oberoi, known for his acting career, also owns luxury homes and rare cars, which adds to the intrigue of the case.
Mumbai Police’s Economic Offences Wing (EOW) is investigating a ₹34.75 crore diamond fraud case involving Cupid Diamonds Pvt Ltd.
The complainant, Nimesh Piyush Mehta, accused Satish Daryanani, Ricky Vasandani, and Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi of cheating him.

The accused initially gained the complainant’s trust through small transactions before proposing a large business deal in Dubai.
