HBO's Harry Potter Series Set for Early 2027
HBO is making a new TV show about Harry Potter, and it will start in early 2027.
The show is based on the books by J.K. Rowling and will have eight episodes in the first season.
Some actors have been chosen to play the main characters, like Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter and John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore.
The show is being made by HBO along with other companies, and it will be different from the movies.
Each book in the series will have its own season, so there will be more details and stories than in the films.
The show is being filmed in the United Kingdom and will have music by Hans Zimmer.
HBO's Harry Potter TV series is set to premiere in early 2027, with the exact month still unspecified.
Principal photography began in mid-2025 in the United Kingdom, with the first season consisting of eight episodes.
Key cast members include Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter, Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger, Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley, and John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore.
The series is a faithful adaptation of J.K. Rowling's novels, with each book receiving its own season for more detailed storytelling.
The show is produced by HBO in collaboration with Brontë Film and TV and Warner Bros Television, with executive producers including J.K. Rowling and Hans Zimmer as the composer.
