Neeraj Chopra Returns to Glasgow for CWG 2026
Neeraj Chopra, a famous Indian javelin athlete, is back in Glasgow for the 2026 Commonwealth Games.
He had a long injury break and only recently threw 85.69 metres in Doha.
The javelin event will be held at a smaller stadium called Scotstoun.
Many strong competitors, like Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem and World Champion Keshorn Walcott, will also compete.
Chopra hopes to win a medal and has been posting training videos on Instagram.
He said he wants to give 100 % and focus on technique.
The competition will be tough, but Chopra believes he can do well if he keeps improving.
Neeraj Chopra, two‑time Olympic and double World Championship medalist, is back in Glasgow for the 2026 Commonwealth Games after a nine‑month injury layoff.
He finished fourth (85.69 m) at the Doha Diamond League, testing his readiness for the Games.
The javelin event will be held at the 11,000‑seater Scotstoun Stadium, replacing the 44,000‑seater Hampden Park used in 2018.
Competitors include Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem, World Champion Keshorn Walcott, Sri Lanka’s Rumesh Tharanga Pathirage, Grenada’s Anderson Peters, and Julius Yego.
