Heavy Rain In Delhi-NCR, More Showers Forecast Till August 14

It rained a lot in Delhi and the nearby cities like Gurgaon, Noida, Ghaziabad, and Faridabad.

The rain came from the monsoon, India's big rainy season.

In South Delhi, one weather station measured 165 millimeters of rain in a single day.

That is a lot of water.

The rain cooled things down, making daytime temperatures much lower than usual for August.

Roads filled with water and there were huge traffic jams, so people had trouble getting around.

The India Meteorological Department, the group of scientists who study weather, gave a yellow alert.

A yellow alert tells people to be careful and ready.

The scientists say it will stay cloudy with occasional rain until at least August 14.

They are telling drivers to avoid roads and underpasses that often flood.
