Calcutta High Court Allows Mamata Meeting With Participation Limits

Calcutta High Court Allows Mamata Meeting With Participation Limits

The Calcutta High Court gave Mamata Banerjee permission to hold a political meeting in Sreerampore.

The meeting will happen on September 26 at Sreerampore Court Maidan.

It can last only from 4 p.m.

to 6 p.m.

No more than 1,000 people may attend.

The court also said there cannot be a rally or procession after the meeting.

Organizers must keep nearby traffic moving normally.

The state government had wanted fewer people because the venue is small and Banerjee needs security space.

Her party argued that many more people had gathered there for another event.

The meeting was moved to this venue after a dispute over using the nearby Snanpiri Maidan.
