Goa Imposes Up to ₹1 Lakh Fines for Beach Violations
Goa has made a new rule that says people who break certain beach rules can be fined a lot of money, up to ₹1 lakh.
The rules say you can’t have unlicensed parties, use unregistered guides, buy water‑sport tickets from unofficial places, drink where it’s not allowed, litter, drive on the sand, or dump waste.
If you break the rules, you could get a fine that starts at ₹5,000 and can go up to ₹1 lakh.
The law also says you can be prosecuted under a special section of the Indian law that deals with not following orders from officials.
Goa wants these rules to stop illegal businesses and keep the beaches clean for everyone.
Goa authorities have introduced fines up to ₹1 lakh for beach violations.
Offences include unlicensed parties, unregistered guides, illegal water‑sport tickets, and littering.
Fines start at ₹5,000 and can increase based on the offence.
Violators may also face prosecution under Section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023.
The aim is to deter illegal operators and protect Goa’s beach environment.
