SC Rules Corporations Must Protect Environment
The Supreme Court of India said that companies must take care of the environment as part of their social responsibility.
This is not just a nice thing to do, but a duty they have under the Constitution.
The court was talking about protecting a big bird called the Great Indian Bustard, which is in danger.
Companies that do things like mining or making power near where these birds live must help protect them and their homes.
The court also said that companies should use their money meant for social good to help save these birds and their habitats.
They gave specific instructions on how to do this in places like Rajasthan and Gujarat.
