New Pension Scheme & Tax Benefits for Retirees
The government has created a new pension scheme called UPS for those retiring under the NPS, offering a guaranteed monthly pension.
Retirees and spouses are eligible to receive it, with benefits including a lump sum and a monthly top-up if their current annuity is less.
You can apply online or offline until June 30, 2025.
Additionally, the Income Tax Department has released a guide for senior citizens on tax benefits, including tax exemptions for gratuity, pension, provident fund withdrawals, and interest income.
