U.S. Marines Demonstrate EABO Concept During Operation Epic Fury
U.S. Marines used a military idea called EABO during Operation Epic Fury.
EABO stands for Expeditionary Advanced Base Operations.
It is a way for Marines to operate from temporary bases and use them during missions.
The Marines had mostly practiced this idea in exercises before.
This operation was the first time they used it in combat, according to the report.
Col.
Chris P. Niedziocha said the mission showed that the idea could work.
He also said the concept is still new and developing.
The operation took place during the unit’s deployment to the Middle East.
