Textile Unit Owner Booked After Worker’s 70-Foot Fall

A worker was badly hurt at a textile factory in Bhiwandi.

The accident happened on September 16.

Police said he was coming down an iron ladder after checking equipment on the roof.

He slipped and fell through a cement sheet.

He then fell about 70 feet down an open lift shaft.

He landed on cardboard at the bottom.

He suffered serious injuries to his spine, chest, and ribs.

Police accused the factory owner of not covering the shaft or installing safety netting.
