Henkel India Recycles PoP Ganesha Idols
Henkel India, along with its partners, recycled over 1,000 kilograms of Plaster of Paris (PoP) Ganesha idols collected after Ganesh Visarjan 2025.
They turned this waste into 300 study tables for students in a Navi Mumbai school.
This project, called Project HARMONY, helps the environment by reducing waste and supports education by providing new study tables.
The initiative was celebrated on January 22, 2026, during Ganesh Jayanti, showing how devotion can be turned into useful educational support.
The project involves many partners, including the Rotary Club, local authorities, and environmental activists, all working together to make a positive impact.
Henkel India, in partnership with the Rotary Club of Navi Mumbai and NMMC, recycled 1,000 kilograms of PoP Ganesha idols into 300 study tables.
The initiative, Project HARMONY, aims to promote environmental sustainability and create educational infrastructure.
The recycled materials were processed at an authorized facility and converted into study tables through a women-led, handcrafted manufacturing process.
The study tables were distributed to students of an NMMC school on January 22, 2026, coinciding with Ganesh Jayanti.
The project involved collaboration with sustainability partners like Dr. Binish Desai and Beach Please India, led by environmental activist Malhar Kalambe.
