Russia to Consider Trump’s G20 Invitation as EU Condemns Moscow
President Donald Trump invited Russian President Vladimir Putin to a meeting called the G20 summit.
The summit will take place in Miami on December 14 and 15.
Russia said it appreciates the invitation but has not decided whether Putin will attend.
The invitation comes while Russia and Ukraine are still at war.
The United States has tried to help end the war, but those efforts have not produced a peace deal.
The European Union said it will keep criticizing Russia’s invasion of Ukraine at the summit.
At the same time, the EU said Russia is still a member of the G20 and can attend its meetings.
The G20 includes major advanced and emerging economies.
