Severe Cold Wave Grips North India
It's been very cold in many parts of northern and eastern India.
Some places had temperatures below zero degrees Celsius.
The coldest places were in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan, and Jharkhand.
The weather experts say that the cold wind from the north is causing this cold wave.
They also say that a weather change called a western disturbance might bring warmer temperatures soon.
People are feeling the cold a lot, especially in the early mornings.
The cold wave is expected to continue for a few more days.
Subzero temperatures recorded in the plains of northwest India, with Ballowal Saunkhri in Punjab reaching 0°C.
Chandigarh experienced its lowest temperature in nine years at 2.8°C.
Delhi recorded its coldest January morning in three years with a minimum of 3°C.
Jharkhand reported temperatures below 10°C in 13 districts, with Gumla at 2.3°C.
A western disturbance is expected to bring a rise in temperatures in the coming days.
