Sunny Monsoon Brings More Tourists To Ooty, Despite Rainfall Deficit

Ooty usually gets fewer tourists when the monsoon rains become stronger after May.

This year, June and July had more sunny days and less rain than usual.

Because the weather was sunnier, more people visited the hill town.

The Government Botanical Garden welcomed 4.18 lakh visitors between June and August.

June had the highest visitor count among the three reported months.

The lack of rain was harmful for farmers and water supplies.

However, it helped hotels and other hospitality businesses attract visitors.

Ooty is now hoping for a busy autumn tourist season.
