Ghosh Predicts BJP Gains in Nandigram and Rejinagar
Voting began Tuesday in by-elections in West Bengal.
BJP leader Dilip Ghosh said he expects his party to do better in Nandigram.
He also said Rejinagar might change hands for the first time.
Ghosh believes some minority voters may now support the BJP because of development.
He said people are also concerned about corruption and oppression.
The way voter lists are being revised is being discussed in the Supreme Court.
Ghosh said the court had earlier issued a decision that guided the work.
He also described programmes celebrating Narendra Modi’s birthday and the government’s achievements.
In West Bengal, these programmes are due to continue until October 7 because Durga Puja is beginning.
Dilip Ghosh said the BJP would increase its winning margin in Nandigram.
He said Rejinagar could see a change for the first time.
Ghosh claimed minority voters were increasingly considering the BJP and its development record.
He dismissed criticism of the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls, saying the matter was before the Supreme Court.
He said programmes marking Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday would promote government achievements through October 7 in West Bengal.
