Panel advises strengthening ties with oil nations
A group in the Indian government called the parliamentary committee on public undertakings has suggested that the government should work more closely with countries that produce oil.
They want to make sure India can get oil more easily and without too many problems.
The group also said that Indian companies should use digital tools to understand and manage risks better.
There are some problems right now, like issues with getting oil from Russia and Mozambique, and problems with making useful things from rare earth metals.
The government is trying to fix these problems by working with other countries and setting up new facilities.
Parliamentary panel advises MoPNG to strengthen diplomatic ties with oil-producing nations to secure favourable investment terms and address regulatory hurdles.
Challenges include sanctions, financial market volatility, and regulatory changes in host countries affecting India's energy import bill and overseas projects.
State-run oil companies recommended to adopt digital and enterprise risk management frameworks to assess geopolitical vulnerabilities.
OVL faces issues with equity oil from Rosneft’s Sakhalin-1 project and constraints due to US sanctions on Venezuela.
India lacks capacity to convert rare earths into usable magnets, with IREL establishing a Rare Earth & Titanium Theme Park in Bhopal to address this.
