Nepal Floods Force Indian Tourists to Abandon Holidays

Heavy floods in Nepal made travel dangerous for many Indian tourists.

People going to cities such as Kathmandu, Pokhara, Chitwan and Nepalgunj saw flooded roads.

Some were stuck on roads for hours.

Several families decided to stop their holidays and return to India.

They crossed back through the Sonauli border in Uttar Pradesh.

Travellers said they felt relieved when they reached safety.

The floods also harmed tourism and road connections in Nepal.

Nepalese authorities continued rescue work and warned people to move to safer places.
