Pune Sub-Registrar Suspended for Irregular Government Land Sale
Imagine a special plot of land that belongs to the government and cannot be sold without permission.
A person who works at the land registration office, named Vidya Shankar Bade, has been suspended because they helped register the sale of this special government land.
This happened when the land was sold in January 2025, even though it clearly stated it couldn't be sold without government approval.
The person in charge of land matters, Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule, found out about this.
It seems like the land records weren't checked properly, and some verification steps might have been skipped.
The government is concerned because this might be an attempt to illegally sell valuable government land.
Because of these alleged mistakes, Vidya Shankar Bade has been suspended.
Pune's Haveli Sub-Registrar Vidya Shankar Bade has been suspended by Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule.
The suspension is due to alleged grave violations in the registration of a 15-acre government land parcel at Tathawade, Pune.
The land, Survey No. 20, is owned by the Animal Husbandry Department and cannot be sold without prior government approval.
Bade allegedly used an outdated land record and a 'skip' option in the system, bypassing verification for the sale registered in January 2025.
The incident has prompted parallel investigations by the Divisional Commissioner and Animal Husbandry Department, with authorities tightening scrutiny on government land registrations.
