Gurugram Tightens School Bus Safety Rules During Heavy Rain

Gurugram Tightens School Bus Safety Rules During Heavy Rain

Gurugram has created new rules to keep children safe during heavy rain.

School buses must not drive through flooded roads or underpasses.

Police will tell schools which roads are clear, slow, or unsafe.

If a route becomes dangerous, schools must find another safe route.

If no safe route exists, children can stay inside school with staff.

Parents must be told about delays or route changes.

Backup buses will be available when a school bus cannot complete its trip.

The rules will apply during the 2026 monsoon season until September 30, 2026, unless changed earlier.
