Trump Administration Orders Immigrants to Depart U.S.
The US government is telling about 500,000 immigrants to leave the country.
These immigrants came through a program created by the Biden administration to help people from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela.
Now, the government is also canceling their permission to work.
This decision comes after a Supreme Court ruling.
Some officials say these immigrants weren't properly checked when they arrived.
Those affected had been following the rules and getting jobs.
The original program aimed to manage how people arrived and give them a safe way to come to the US.
Immigrants from a Biden-era parole program for Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela are receiving termination notices.
Participants in the "CHNV" parole program are also being told their employment authorization is revoked.
The notices follow a US Supreme Court decision allowing DHS to revoke parole benefits.
DHS stated the Biden administration hadn't properly vetted immigrants admitted through the program.
The Biden administration launched the CHNV program in 2023 to reduce irregular migration and provide an orderly way to flee humanitarian crises.
