Congress Orders Statewide Dissolution Of Departments; BJP Disbands Datia Unit After Bypoll Assessment · freepressjournal.in

Two big political groups in India, the Congress and the BJP, are changing how their teams are organised in the state of Madhya Pradesh.

The Congress party dissolved all of its departments, cells and units across the whole state, which means every committee group was dismissed at once.

The order was issued on August 5, 2026 by a party leader named Harish Chaudhary.

The party said this was part of a bigger restructuring, following instructions from the All India Congress Committee.

One day earlier, the BJP did something smaller, dissolving its local unit in a district called Datia.

The BJP made this decision after reviewing how the party did in a recent election for the Datia Assembly seat.

The BJP's state president, Hemant Khandelwal, and a special committee's recommendations led to the decision.

A party secretary named Shyam Mahajan signed the BJP order on August 4, 2026.

So both parties are reorganising, but the Congress change covers all of Madhya Pradesh while the BJP change covers only Datia.
