Parliamentary Panel Recommends BElEd Program Continuation
A committee is saying to keep the BElEd program for training teachers.
This is a four-year course.
The government's teacher education council, NCTE, wants to stop it.
They want schools to use a new program called ITEP instead.
ITEP is in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
The committee feels stopping BElEd would be a mistake and wants to keep it going and fill open teacher jobs.
Professors from around the world also support keeping BElEd.

The National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) proposed to scrap the BElEd program.
