BMC Moves to Drop Two Contractors Over Delayed Road Work

BMC Moves to Drop Two Contractors Over Delayed Road Work

Mumbai’s civic body wants to build concrete roads instead of asphalt roads.

It says two contractors are moving too slowly on the project.

Work has not started on 275 roads.

The unfinished work is estimated to cost Rs 380 crore.

The BMC says the contractors may not finish by March 2027.

It plans to stop the unfinished parts of their contracts and invite new bids.

The contractors say they face problems such as short work hours in busy areas and the rainy season.

One contractor also says it has already completed 154 of its 182 assigned roads.
