Record Traffic Congestion on Hyderabad-Vijayawada Highway
There was a lot of traffic on the road between Hyderabad and Vijayawada for five days.
The most traffic was on Saturday, with over 71,000 cars.
In total, 304,000 cars passed through the toll plaza in those five days.
Most of them were going to Vijayawada.
The traffic was bad because of construction and the holiday season.
People took different roads to avoid the traffic jam.
Last year, there were fewer cars on the road during the same time.
Traffic congestion on the Hyderabad-Vijayawada National Highway lasted five days, peaking at 71,284 vehicles on Saturday.
A total of 304,000 vehicles passed through the Pantangi toll plaza over the five days, with 204,000 headed towards Vijayawada.
The heavy congestion was attributed to ongoing construction of underpass bridges and the festive season.
Motorists used alternative routes such as the Nagarjuna Sagar highway and the Bhongir route via Chityal.
Traffic returned to normal on Wednesday, with last year's three-day pre-festival traffic at 207,000 vehicles.
