Indian Biotech Develops Liver Failure Therapy, Shows Promising Results
Imagine your liver is sick and can't fix itself.
Scientists created a new medicine, Tulsi-28X, made from special cells and tiny messengers called exosomes.
In animal tests, this medicine helped heal damaged livers, and none of the animals died.
This is a big deal because it could become a new treatment for people with liver problems, where the only current solution is a transplant.
The next step is to test it on people, and if successful, it could change how liver disease is treated.
Tulsi Therapeutics announced successful animal trials for a novel stem cell–exosome therapy for chronic liver failure.
The investigational product, Tulsi-28X, is a regenerative therapy derived from mesenchymal stem cells and exosomes.
The preclinical trial showed 100% liver fibrosis reversal in treated animals, with zero deaths.
The therapy was developed in India with collaboration from global experts and the University of Hyderabad.
Human clinical trials are planned in collaboration with Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS).
