Mumbai Deploys Heavy Security for Anant Chaturdashi Immersions

Anant Chaturdashi marks the end of Mumbai’s Ganesh festival.

On Friday, many people will take Ganesh idols in processions for immersion.

More than 24,000 police officers and other security personnel will help keep people safe.

The city’s civic body will also send more than 25,000 workers to manage the event.

Traffic rules will change on some busy roads to prevent congestion.

The BMC has prepared natural sites and artificial lakes for immersions.

Lifeguards, ambulances, boats, lights, toilets, and control rooms will be available.

People are being asked to follow officials’ instructions and report suspicious objects.

They are also warned to be careful because jellyfish and stingrays have been seen along the coastline.
