DDA Begins Planning Rehabilitation for 45 Delhi JJ Clusters
The Delhi Development Authority is studying plans to improve housing for people living in 45 JJ clusters.
These clusters have about 21,229 households and cover 135.74 acres.
The DDA wants to hire three advisers to study 15 possible projects.
The advisers will estimate how many homes are needed and what roads and other services may be required.
They will also examine costs and how each project could be carried out.
Construction has not begun.
Under an in-situ plan, eligible residents would get formal homes at or near their current settlement, though they might have to move temporarily during construction.
This work is one part of a larger Delhi plan covering more than 650 clusters.
The Delhi Development Authority has invited bids to appoint three transaction advisers for in-situ rehabilitation planning.
The advisers will prepare feasibility reports for 15 projects covering 45 JJ clusters across Delhi.
The identified clusters span 135.74 acres and include 21,229 households, or more than one lakh people.
The studies will assess housing needs, infrastructure, development potential, financing and possible implementation models; construction has not started.
The work is part of the Master Plan for Delhi 2047, which envisages rehabilitation for about 17 lakh people across more than 650 JJ clusters.
