Major Fire at Dhaka Market Building
A big fire started early in the morning in a tall building in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
The building has shops on the ground floor and apartments above.
Firefighters rescued 42 people from the building.
The fire started in the market area, which has shops selling clothes and small warehouses.
The basement has only two entry points, which made it harder for the firefighters to put out the fire.
The cause of the fire is not yet known, but some people think it might have started because of old clothes stored in the basement.
This is the second big fire in a tall building in Dhaka in two months.
Bangladesh has had many industrial accidents in the past, often because of safety problems.
A major fire broke out on the ground floor of a 12-storey mixed-use building in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
Fire service officials rescued at least 42 people from the building, with no casualties reported.
The fire started at 5:37 am local time, and 18 firefighting units were deployed to control the blaze.
The building consists of several separate structures sharing a single basement, with the ground and first floors housing a market and the upper floors containing residential apartments.
The cause of the fire is yet to be determined, but scrap clothes stored in the basement may have fuelled the blaze.
