Coach Warns Vaibhav Sooryavanshi Test Path Requires Patience
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi is a very young Indian cricketer who has already played T20I cricket.
His coach says Test cricket will be much harder.
In T20 cricket, players often try to hit many balls quickly.
In Test cricket, they must wait patiently for the right balls.
Sooryavanshi needs to learn how to play for a long time and change his batting speed.
The Duleep Trophy will give him more experience with the red ball.
His first-class record is currently modest, with 207 runs in 12 innings.
His coach believes he has the ability to improve, but says he needs time and consistent performances.
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has been named East Zone vice-captain for the 2026 Duleep Trophy.
Coach Manish Ojha says reaching India’s Test team will be harder than Sooryavanshi’s rapid T20I rise.
Ojha believes Sooryavanshi must adapt mentally by waiting for deliveries and reducing risk against the new ball.
The 15-year-old has scored 207 runs in 12 first-class innings at an average of 17.25.
Sooryavanshi has two Youth Test centuries against Australia Under-19 but needs sustained domestic success over several seasons.
