Kumaraswamy Challenges Shivakumar Over Alleged Bengaluru-Mysuru Corridor Irregularities

Kumaraswamy Challenges Shivakumar Over Alleged Bengaluru-Mysuru Corridor Irregularities

H.D. Kumaraswamy says there may have been problems with a major road project.

He challenged Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar to discuss the issue publicly.

Kumaraswamy said the government changed the project’s land plans after the Cabinet approved an earlier agreement.

He compared the original plan with a later revised plan.

He said the toll road’s land allocation grew from 6,999 acres to 9,468.86 acres.

He also questioned changes in land assigned to townships.

Kumaraswamy asked why the project should continue when another highway between Bengaluru and Mysuru is already operating.

He said the project could acquire more land, benefit private interests, and create extra costs for Karnataka.
