Cooperative Bank Leaders Discuss Enhancing Financial Capacity
Two important leaders from cooperative banks met to talk about how to make their banks stronger.
One leader, Mr. Ravinder Rao, was visiting Mr. Raghuram, who leads a bank in the Krishna district.
Mr. Raghuram explained that small rural banks need more money to grow.
He said that a current rule allows them to borrow up to Rs.40 lakh, but he thinks this amount should be much higher.
This is because they want to help more people in the villages and make the cooperative system work better for everyone.
Konduru Ravinder Rao, Chairman of NAFSCOB and TSCAB, visited the KDCC Bank in Vijayawada.
KDCC Bank Chairman Nettem Raghuram felicitated Ravinder Rao for his contributions to the cooperative banking sector.
Discussions focused on the urgent need to increase the financial capacity of cooperative societies.
Raghuram highlighted that the current Rs.40 lakh credit limit under CMA norms is insufficient for rural cooperative institutions.
