Indian Navy Holds Separate Maritime Exercises With UK, Russia

The Indian Navy is taking part in two separate exercises with other countries' navies.

One exercise is with the United Kingdom's Royal Navy.

The ship INS Trishul arrived in Plymouth for that exercise, which runs from October 8 to 15.

Sailors will meet, take part in harbour activities and practise drills at sea.

Another exercise is with the Russian Navy.

INS Sahyadri arrived in Vladivostok, and that exercise is scheduled for October 13 to 18.

The exercises give sailors a chance to practise working together and share what they know.

The Navy says they are meant to strengthen maritime cooperation and security.
