Dengue deaths drop in Delhi 2025
In 2025, Delhi saw a big drop in dengue cases and deaths compared to previous years.
Only 1,469 dengue cases and 4 deaths were reported, which is much lower than in past years.
Malaria and chikungunya cases also went down.
The city did a lot to control mosquitoes, like checking houses, spraying insecticides, and even using special fish to eat mosquito larvae.
This helped keep the number of cases low, especially after the monsoon season.
The efforts seem to have worked well, as there weren't many cases after the monsoon.
Dengue cases in Delhi dropped to 1,469 in 2025, down from 1,303 in 2023 and 1,337 in 2021.
Only 4 dengue-related deaths were reported in 2025, a significant decrease from previous years.
Malaria cases declined to 737 in 2025, with no deaths reported, similar to 2024.
Chikungunya cases also decreased to 177 in 2025, down from 267 in 2024.
Authorities conducted extensive vector-control measures, including 3.77 crore household inspections and spraying insecticides in over 32.5 lakh houses.
