Three Detained in Arunachal for Attempting to Join ULFA-I
Three young men from Assam were caught in Arunachal Pradesh while trying to join a group called ULFA-I, which is not allowed.
They had been talking to a man named Arunoday Dahotia, who had just given himself up to the authorities.
Dahotia was an important person in ULFA-I and had been working with them for a long time.
The police think this is a big deal because it might make ULFA-I weaker.
The leader of Assam, Himanta Biswa Sarma, said this doesn't change the talks they are having with ULFA-I, but they will only talk to the main leader, Paresh Baruah.
Three youths were detained in Arunachal Pradesh for allegedly attempting to join the banned ULFA-I outfit.
The youths were in touch with Arunoday Dahotia, a key ULFA-I cadre who surrendered a day earlier.
Dahotia, also known as Bijit Gogoi, was a trusted aide of ULFA-I chief Paresh Baruah and had held significant positions within the outfit.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma stated that Dahotia's surrender does not alter peace talks with ULFA-I.
The government will only hold political discussions with ULFA-I chief Paresh Baruah.
