Hormuz Vessel Transits Remain Low as Tanker Is Stopped

Fewer ships than usual traveled through the Strait of Hormuz on Monday.

About five ships were counted, compared with a recent average of about 14.

Four ships entered the strait and one left it.

None of the counted ships were liquid tankers.

Some ships carried dry bulk goods, while one gas tanker was empty.

Iranian media said a Saudi oil tanker was stopped on Tuesday.

Another nearby waterway, the Bab-el-Mandeb, had 27 ship movements.

Five of those ships were medium or large crude-oil tankers.
