Agricultural Universities to Include Agriculture for BSc
Universities are changing the rules for BSc Agriculture programs.
Now, students who took agriculture as a subject in high school can apply.
Previously, some students with agriculture backgrounds were rejected because they didn't have the "right" science subjects.
This change allows more students to apply and makes the process fairer.
Starting in 2025, it should help around 3,000 students.
Most universities have agreed to this change, with a few working on it.
Agricultural universities will accept Agriculture as a Class XII subject for BSc admissions.
This change is under the ICAR quota, affecting 20% of seats.
The decision addresses a long-standing issue for students.
The revised criteria will be implemented from the 2025-26 academic year.
Approximately 3,000 students will benefit from the change.
