Maharashtra Orders Zilla Parishad Schools to Get Basic Facilities

Maharashtra Orders Zilla Parishad Schools to Get Basic Facilities

The Maharashtra government wants rural public schools to have important basic facilities.

These include drinking water, toilets, electricity and enough safe classrooms.

Officials will visit schools to see what each one already has.

Schools will then be placed into four groups called A, B, C and D. The visits and reports must be completed within eight days.

Schools without water or toilets should get them urgently.

The larger improvement work is expected to finish within one month.

Local councils, school staff and communities may help, while officials who delay the work could face action.
