Crude Oil Futures Drop on OPEC Production Hike Potential
Oil prices are going down a little bit.
This is because the countries that make a lot of oil (OPEC+) might start making even more.
They had already planned to make more oil, and now they're thinking of increasing it again.
This means there would be more oil available.
At the same time, the amount of oil in America is going up, which also makes the price go down.
It's like when there's more of something, it usually costs less.
Crude oil futures traded lower on Thursday morning.
Reports suggest OPEC+ may increase oil production in October.
OPEC+ had already agreed to increase output by 2.2 million barrels per day.
The American Petroleum Institute (API) reported a rise in US crude oil inventories.
A final decision on the production increase has not been made.
