SIA Reopens Wandhama Massacre Probe Nearly Three Decades Later

SIA Reopens Wandhama Massacre Probe Nearly Three Decades Later

The SIA is looking again at an old attack in Wandhama.

On the night of January 25-26, 1998, terrorists killed 23 Kashmiri Pandits.

Nine women and four children were among those killed.

The victims came from four families that had stayed in the Valley.

The police had opened a case, but it was later left unresolved.

Investigators are now searching for new clues and checking who may have helped the attackers.

Some reports link the attack to Lashkar-e-Taiba, while another also names Hizbul Mujahideen.

The SIA is also reviewing other killings of Kashmiri Pandits, including those of Tika Lal Taploo and Justice Neelkanth Ganjoo.

Officials say they want to use evidence and witness testimony to identify those responsible.
