Vedanta Reports Strong Quarter, Focuses on Growth and Debt
Vedanta, a big company, had a good quarter with lots of profit, but some of their profit went down a bit because of special costs.
They make money from things like aluminum and oil.
They're trying to make more money while also lowering how much they owe.
They sold some of their shares in another company to get extra cash.
They are also making more electricity.
They plan to keep growing and paying out money to investors, even though they're also spending a lot to grow.
Vedanta Ltd. reported its highest-ever Q1 EBITDA of ₹10,746 crore, with margins at 35%.
Despite a 13% year-on-year decline, Vedanta's operational PAT grew by 13%.
The company aims to reduce net debt to EBITDA to closer to 1x, from the current 1.3x.
Vedanta sold a 1.6% stake in Hindustan Zinc for over ₹3,000 crore, unlocking value.
The company added 950 MW of merchant power, increasing total capacity to 3.83 GW.
