European Stocks Slip, Airlines Decline
European stocks went down a little bit, and they might have their biggest loss in two months.
This is because oil prices went up, which made airline stocks go down.
Some stocks like Ericsson AB went up a lot, but others like Wacker Neuson SE and Adidas AG went down a lot.
The stocks almost made up for a drop on Friday.
People who invest in stocks are getting used to the ups and downs caused by political things.
The economy in Europe is growing a little bit, but some countries like France are not doing as well as others like Germany.
European stocks edged lower, heading for their biggest weekly loss in two months.
A jump in oil prices dragged airline shares lower, with Deutsche Lufthansa AG, Air France-KLM, and International Consolidated Airlines Group SA among the biggest decliners.
The Stoxx Europe 600 Index fell 0.08% as of 12:41 p.m. in Paris, and is down 1% over the past five days.
Ericsson AB rose 9.4% after the telecom-equipment maker’s efforts to cut costs and boost margins paid off.
Wacker Neuson SE fell 22% after the firm announced that discussions regarding a potential majority stake acquisition and takeover by Doosan Bobcat have been terminated.
