Ganesh Immersion Continues Peacefully Amid Heavy Rain in Warangal

People in Warangal celebrated by taking Ganesh idols to lakes for immersion.

The processions continued even though heavy rain was falling.

Devotees sang farewell slogans and hoped to welcome Ganesha again next year.

Officials prepared special places for the immersions.

They arranged cranes, lighting, drinking water, sanitation and traffic controls.

About 8,000 idols were expected to be immersed.

Trained swimmers and disaster-response workers were ready where water levels were high.

Officials asked people to finish early because more heavy rain was expected.

Afterward, workers will remove idol remains and clean the lakes.

People were encouraged to use clay idols to reduce pollution.
