Modi Rides in China's Hongqi L5: Features and Significance

Prime Minister Modi rode in China's Hongqi L5 limousine during his visit to Tianjin for the SCO Summit.

The Hongqi L5, known as "China's Rolls Royce," is a luxury car typically used by top officials, including President Xi Jinping.

It's not available to the general public and symbolizes national pride.

The car measures nearly 5.5 meters long and weighs about 3,100 kilograms.

It features advanced security systems, including bulletproof glass and run-flat tires, and offers engine options like a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 or a 6.0-litre V12 petrol.

Inside, it has soft leather seating and classic Chinese motifs.

The Hongqi brand was initially for Communist Party leaders, and the L series is for state leaders.
