Pune Announces Navratri Traffic Diversions Near Mahalaxmi Temple
A religious programme will take place near the Mahalaxmi Temple in Pune on October 12.
Women are expected to gather at Veer Savarkar Chowk for prayers from 5 a.m.
to 7 a.m.
To help manage traffic, police will close or restrict some roads nearby starting at 4:30 a.m.
Drivers will be sent along other routes.
The restrictions will last until the programme is over.
Ambulances, fire engines and police vehicles can still use the restricted roads.
The event is part of the public Navratri Mahotsav.
Traffic restrictions will begin October 12 at 4:30 a.m. and continue until the religious programme concludes.
A women’s Shri Sukta and Atharvashirsha recitation is scheduled from 5 a.m. to 7 a.m. at Veer Savarkar Chowk.
Vehicles from Jedhe Chowk approaching via Bajirao Road and Jamnalal Bajaj Putla will be diverted toward Puran Chowk.
Traffic from Mitra Mandal Chowk via Puran Chowk will be diverted along Sinhagad Road toward Jedhe Chowk.
Emergency vehicles, including ambulances, fire brigade and police vehicles, are exempt from the restrictions.
