Australia and New Zealand Navies Deepen Cooperation Through Plan Tasman

Australia and New Zealand have agreed to work more closely with their navies.

Their new agreement is called Plan Tasman.

It was signed by senior naval officers from both countries.

The plan includes working together on training, equipment, rules and military operations.

It also covers how sailors and engineers cooperate.

Australia said the plan will make joint training and operations more organized.

New Zealand said the countries have worked together at sea for more than 160 years.

The agreement aims to move their relationship from traditional cooperation toward planned integration.
