Mumbai Rainfall Crosses 2,000-mm Mark; More Showers Expected

Mumbai is a big city in India that gets lots of rain every year during the monsoon season.

On Tuesday morning, the rain became very heavy again.

The city's rainfall went past the 2,000-millimetre mark.

That is a huge amount of water.

Weather experts called this the revival of monsoon currents.

They told people to be careful because heavy rain could fall in some places.

They issued a yellow alert for Mumbai and nearby areas like Thane, Palghar and Raigad.

The alert will last until Thursday, August 13.

One weather station in Santacruz measured 2,020 millimetres of rain so far this season.

That is about 85 per cent of what the area usually gets during the whole rainy season.
