MHT-CET, JEE Scores Under Scrutiny for Performance Gaps
The Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell is going to check the scores of students who did much better in the MHT-CET and JEE exams than in their Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) exams.
They found that many students with lower HSC scores got very high percentiles in the entrance exams.
The CET Cell wants to make sure that the admission process is fair and that students who really deserve to get into good colleges are not affected.
They are not doubting the hard work of students who improved their scores through coaching, but they want to check if there are any unfair practices happening.
The Maharashtra CET Cell will scrutinize candidates with high entrance exam scores but low HSC marks.
1,450 students with 75%+ HSC scored 99-100% in MHT-CET, while 455, 68, and 61 students from lower HSC brackets also achieved the same percentile.
Similar trends were observed in JEE Main results, with many students showing varying performance patterns.
The review aims to ensure the integrity and transparency of the admission process.
The CET Cell clarified that the exercise is not intended to question genuine merit but to strengthen confidence in the examination system.
