Telangana Doctors Seek Pay Parity
Doctors in Telangana are asking the government to make their pay the same everywhere.
Right now, doctors in Hyderabad get paid more than those in other parts of the state, even though they do the same work.
The doctors' group says this isn't fair and wants the government to give special pay to doctors in other areas to keep them from leaving.
Telangana doctors demand pay parity between Hyderabad and district institutions.
A 20% salary difference exists despite similar responsibilities.
The association cites the need for hardship allowances to retain skilled faculty.
Several states have already implemented such allowances.
The appeal was made to the Directorate of Medical Education.
